The first version of Beauty and the Beast appeared in 1740 by Madame Gabrielle de Villeneuve. The next version of the tale appeared 16 years later in 1756 by Madame Le Prince de Beaumont. The story of Beauty and the Beast is a wonderful tale that teaches us not to 'judge a book by the cover' that in finding true love you must first look to ones character and heart instead of just their outward appearance.
